Let’s get outside, get active, and get our hands dirty!
Join HCLT’s Stew Crew today!
Volunteer Stewardship Crew
HCLT hosts recurring monthly volunteer trail building workdays on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Come join us in clearing, building and maintaining trails in areas such as Brushy Face Preserve, Dixon Woods, Satulah Mountain, Castor Meadows, Peregrine Preserve, Sassafras Gap Farm, and Edward Baker Preserve!
We need your help to maintain and improve our public access trail systems and to develop hiking trails in new areas!
-
Workdays start at 9:30 am at the trailhead, specific workday details and directions are sent out via email prior to each workday. We will be working in small groups at multiple locations along the trail to complete various projects.
-
Each trail and stewardship workday is different, an email is sent out to HCLT’s Volunteer Email Group with workday specifics. Frequently we are trimming trail corridors, working to improve trail surface sustainability, tackling invasive species to be replaced with native or building new trails which expand future public access!
-
Bring a pair of work gloves, water, and wear rugged weather appropriate clothing and shoes for working in and getting dirty! We will provide the appropriate tools needed to work on the trail.
